DataMotion SecureMail Online Help

Inbox

DataMotion SecureMail messages that you receive are placed in your Inbox folder. This folder can be sorted by clicking on the various column headings, and is paged if it contains a large number of items. You can create your own Inbox folders to further organize received messages, and view the Inbox Trash folder to manage messages that you have deleted.

The Inbox folder and its subfolders provide the following functionality:

Retrieve a DataMotion SecureMail Message

Information on how to retrieve your secure emails can be found on the Get Message page.

Message Selection Checkbox

Messages are listed in the folder with a checkbox in front of them.  By selecting one or more checkboxes, the following features are available:

Delete

Moves any checked messages from the folder to the Trash folder.  When viewing messages in the Trash folder, selecting Delete will move the messages to the Deleted Trash folder. If you delete messages from the Deleted Trash folder, they will be permanently deleted from your account. For information regarding the expiration time limits on these messages please see the Message Expiration page.

Recover

This option is only available for messages in the Deleted Trash folder. It recovers the messages by moving them to the Trash folder

Put in Folder... (Move Message)

Moves any checked messages from the current folder to the folder you select with the Put in Folder... drop-down box. The drop-down box also provides the Create Folder and Manage Folder options.

Create Folder

When you select Create Folder from the Put in Folder... drop-down box, it displays the Add New Folder page, where you can create a new folder. No message selection is necessary for this action.

Manage Folders

When you select Manage Folders from the Put in Folder... drop-down box, it changes to Manage Folders page, where you can Rename, Delete, and Empty folders, or create a New Folder. You can also Select a folder to view its messages from here.

Message Column Headings

Click on the column headings to sort the display by that column.  Available columns include ID, Date, From, Subject and Size.

Search

The Search box allows you to search through the folder selected in the View Folder drop-down. You can search based on a number of categories contained in the drop-down box next to the Go button. Examples of these include the Subject, ID, From, and Date. See the Advanced Search for a description of these fields.

View Folder

Enables you to switch among the various Inbox folders.  When a folder is selected, only those messages stored in that folder will be displayed. If you select All Folders, all messages in the Inbox and its subfolders will be displayed, including Trash and Deleted Trash.

Page Size

Use the drop-down to select the number of messages to display per page. To switch pages (when more messages are available than can be displayed on one page), use the X of X drop-down (on the bottom left) to select the page.
